The USA Swimming Foundation is separate non-profit organization that serves as the fundraising arm of USA Swimming with the mission of expanding the sport. The Foundation’s primary programming initiative is a national campaign called Make a Splash. Make a Splash is a national, child-focused water safety initiative which aims to provide the opportunity for all children to learn to swim. The Make a Splash initiative particularly seeks to provide learn-to-swim opportunities for those minority children ages 5-14 who are most at-risk to drowning, which is the second leading cause of accidental death for children under the age of 14
